The Letter of Jeremiah 1 Verses 4 thru 9

4 The word of the LORD came to me: 5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you. 6 “Ah, Lord GOD!” I said, “I do not know how to speak. I am too young!” 7 But the LORD answered me, Do not say, “I am too young.” To whomever I send you, you shall go; whatever I command you, you shall speak. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you—oracle of the LORD. 9 Then the LORD extended his hand and touched my mouth, saying to me, See, I place my words in your mouth!

In Jeremiah 1:4-9, we witness the remarkable moment when God calls the young prophet Jeremiah. The passage begins with the Lord revealing His intent, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” This profound declaration reminds us that God has a purpose for each of us, even before we draw our first breath. Jeremiah, however, is apprehensive; he feels inadequate and doubts his abilities, saying, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.”

Yet, God reassures him with an empowering promise: “Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you.” This is a vital reminder that when we surrender our lives to Jesus Christ, we are not called to rely on our strengths but to trust in the Holy Spirit to guide us. As Scripture promises, when the Holy Spirit dwells in us, we receive the confidence to proclaim God’s truth boldly.

In verse 9, God touches Jeremiah's mouth, declaring, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.” This divine act illustrates how God enables us to speak on His behalf. Similarly, when we devote ourselves to Christ and seek the Holy Spirit's guidance, we can be unafraid and prepared to share the gospel. We may feel unequipped or timid, but God’s assurance remains: He will provide the necessary wisdom and words when we step out in faith.

So, dear readers, as you embrace your relationship with Christ today, remember that you are equipped by the Holy Spirit. Speak boldly and share your faith without fear, trusting that God will place the very words needed to convey His love and truth. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

06-24-25 Jeremiah 1 v0409

**You Shall Speak Whatever I Command You**

In shadows deep, the voice was clear,

God said to Jeremiah, I will always be near.

Before your breath, before your birth,

I knew your heart, I shaped your worth.”

He trembled then, a youth so frail,

“How can I speak? My words will fail.”

But God replied with strength untold,

“Fear not, my child, let courage unfold.”

“For I will guide you, hand in hand,

With every whisper, you will stand.

When doubt arises, remember this,

My words will flow—trust in My bliss.”

He touched his lips, with grace profound,

“In you My message will eternally resound.

The nations will listen, the hearts will turn,

In you, My fire will brightly burn.”

So heed this truth, both near and far,

In every heart, God plants a star.

When you feel weak, when fear might rise,

Know that He speaks through willing sighs.

Surrender your fears, let faith ignite,

His Spirit leads you, a guiding light.

Speak boldly forth, with love and grace,

For in your voice, He finds His place. Amen.
