The 1st Letter to the Corinthians 11 Verses 23 thru 32

23 For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus, on the night he was handed over, took bread, 24 and, after he had given thanks, broke it and said, “This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord until he comes. 27 Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will have to answer for the body and blood of the Lord. 28 A person should examine himself, and so eat the bread and drink the cup. 29 For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself.30 That is why many among you are ill and infirm, and a considerable number are dying. 31 If we discerned ourselves, we would not be under judgment; 32 but since we are judged by [the] Lord, we are being disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world.

Today, on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, we reflect on the profound significance of the Eucharist, as articulated in 1 Corinthians 11:23-32. In this passage, St. Paul recounts the Last Supper, where Jesus instituted the Eucharist, declaring the bread to be His body and the wine to be His blood. This sacred tradition invites us into a deeper communion with Christ and one another, emphasizing the importance of approaching the Eucharist with reverence and self-examination.

As we gather to celebrate this solemnity, I am filled with gratitude to participate in our annual Eucharistic procession through the neighborhood surrounding our church. This act of devotion serves as a powerful witness to our faith, reminding us of the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. The priest, holding the Blessed Sacrament high under a white tent, symbolizes the light and life that Christ brings to our lives and to our community.

Walking several city blocks, accompanied by fellow parishioners, I will have the honor of assisting in carrying the tent that shelters our Lord. This procession is not just a ritual; it is a proclamation of faith and a moment of uniting our community in prayer. As we walk together, we are reminded of our call to bring Christ’s love into the streets, sharing the goodness of His presence with all we encounter.

The words of St. Paul urge us to remember the necessity of acknowledging our own worthiness as we come to the table of the Lord. Today, let us reflect on our relationship with Christ and the profound gift of the Eucharist, praying that it sustains us as we strive to live out our faith daily. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

06-22-25 1 Corinthians 11 v2332

**You Proclaim the Death of the Lord Until He Comes**

In the night the Savior was betrayed,

He took the bread, in faith conveyed,

“This is My body, broken for you,

In this gift, My love shines through.”

With a cup raised high, He spoke with grace,

“This new covenant shall find its true place,

In every heart, through time it flows,

A river of mercy, where true love grows.”

Remember Me, He whispers low,

In the breaking, in the flow,

As we gather, with humble hearts,

In this sacred meal, His life imparts.

Examine ourselves, let truth be told,

Embrace the body, both young and old,

For in communion, we are made one,

United in grace, beneath the Son.

So as we partake, let us proclaim,

His death, His life, forever the same,

In bread and wine, the promise stands,

Eternal love, held in our hands. Amen.
