The Book of Acts Chapter 5 Verses 34 thru 40

34 But a Pharisee in the Sanhedrin named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, respected by all the people, stood up, ordered the men to be put outside for a short time, 35 and said to them, “Fellow Israelites, be careful what you are about to do to these men. 36 Some time ago, Theudas appeared, claiming to be someone important, and about four hundred men joined him, but he was killed, and all those who were loyal to him were disbanded and came to nothing. 37 After him came Judas the Galilean at the time of the census. He also drew people after him, but he too perished and all who were loyal to him were scattered. 38 So now I tell you, have nothing to do with these men, and let them go. For if this endeavor or this activity is of human origin, it will destroy itself. 39 But if it comes from God, you will not be able to destroy them; you may even find yourselves fighting against God.” They were persuaded by him.40 After recalling the apostles, they had them flogged, ordered them to stop speaking in the name of Jesus, and dismissed them.

In Acts 5:34-40, we witness the wisdom of Gamaliel, a respected Pharisee, who counsels caution regarding the apostles' growing influence. He reminds the Sanhedrin of historical instances where movements claiming divine inspiration fizzled out, urging them not to act against these men without considering the potential for divine involvement. His words illustrate a profound understanding: if the apostles are indeed of God, opposing them would place one in direct opposition to the Almighty. This narrative underlines the significance of faith as a guiding force amid uncertainty.

In our own lives, we often encounter doubts and fears that can cloud our judgment and decision-making. Whether facing personal challenges, health issues, or existential questions, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. However, the message from Acts 5 encourages us to trust in God’s sovereignty over our situations. Believing in God empowers us to rise above our doubts and fears. Just as Gamaliel recognized the potential power of divine purpose in the apostles’ mission, we should recognize that trusting in God can navigate us through life's storms.

By placing our faith in the Almighty, we are assured that we are not alone in our struggles. The same God who guided the early followers of Christ is at work in our lives today, providing wisdom, strength, and clarity. In moments of uncertainty, let us lean into that belief, knowing that with God’s power, we can face anything that comes our way. We are reminded that to believe in God is to have an unwavering foundation, allowing us to overcome every doubt and challenge. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Day three CONCLAVE. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

05-02-25 Acts 5 v3440

**If From God You Cannot Destroy**

In the council chamber where tension grew,

Gamaliel spoke with wisdom strong and true,

"Consider the past, let history guide,

If this be of God, we cannot divide."

He urged them to ponder, to pause and reflect,

On movements that faded, on paths they respect.

"The truth from the heavens can’t easily fall,

If the hand of God’s present, we’d risk it all."

With courage and faith, the apostles stood tall,

Embracing their mission, answering the call.

For in every moment of doubt and despair,

God’s power, relentless, is always there.

So let us believe, in shadows and light,

With trust in the Lord, we’ll conquer the night.

Through trials and struggles, His strength will abide,

In faith, we find freedom, with God as our guide. Amen.
