The Gospel of John Chapter 6 Verses 39 thru 47

44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him, and I will raise him on the last day. 45 It is written in the prophets: ‘They shall all be taught by God.’ Everyone who listens to my Father and learns from him comes to me. 46 Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God; he has seen the Father. 47 Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died; 50 this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.” 52 The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat?” 53 Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. 55 For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.”

In John 6:44-56, Jesus reveals profound truths about Himself and the gift of salvation. He declares, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them.” This illustrates that belief in Jesus is not merely an intellectual exercise but a spiritual awakening initiated by God. The invitation to eternal life is extended to all, and it’s through divine initiative that hearts are prepared to respond.

Jesus goes on to emphasize that He is the Bread of Life, stating, “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.” Here, He is speaking metaphorically about His sacrifice and the necessity of receiving Him wholly. Christ's flesh and blood, given for the life of the world, signify His crucifixion, where He bore the sins of humanity. This ultimate act of love offers redemption and sustenance for our spiritual lives.

To “eat” His flesh and “drink” His blood symbolizes a deep, personal faith—embracing what He has done and entering into a relationship with Him. Belief in Jesus is the pathway to experiencing eternal life; it is not enough to merely acknowledge Him; one must partake of Him, embodying His teachings and love. It means forgiving those who persecute you too.

As believers, we are called to reflect on this sacrificial love daily. Jesus invites us to trust in Him wholeheartedly, recognizing that His sacrifice provides the necessary nourishment for our souls. In a world filled with uncertainty, embracing His body and blood assures us of our salvation. May we take this truth to heart, reminding ourselves and others that through belief in Christ, we are offered eternal life by forgiving others too. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Day nine CONCLAVE. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Kairos prison ministry day six. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

05-08-25 John 6 v4456

**Unless You Eat the Flesh of Man and Drink His Blood**

In whispers soft, the Spirit calls,

To hearts once lost, where darkness falls,

“No one comes close unless I draw,”

His gentle voice, our hope restores.

The Bread of Life, He stands near,

A gift of love, dispelling fear,

His flesh and blood, a sacred sign,

For all the world, His grace divine.

To eat, to drink, a choice so clear,

In faith we gather, drawing near,

Eternal life, in Him we find,

Transformed by love, our hearts entwined.

With open arms, He bids us stay,

In fellowship, we walk His way,

The covenant sealed in sacrifice,

Life flows from Him, our paradise.

In every morsel, truth and grace,

We find our value, our rightful place,

For those who seek with earnest heart,

He nourishes, we won't depart.

So come, believe, His promise stands,

A Savior’s love, with outstretched hands,

In Him, we live, our spirits soar,

Forever changed, forevermore. Amen.
