The 1st Letter to the Corinthians Ch 15 Verse 35 thru 49

35 But someone may say, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come back?” 36 You fool! What you sow is not brought to life unless it dies. 37 And what you sow is not the body that is to be but a bare kernel of wheat, perhaps, or of some other kind; 38 but God gives it a body as he chooses, and to each of the seeds its own body. 39 Not all flesh is the same, but there is one kind for human beings, another kind of flesh for animals, another kind of flesh for birds, and another for fish. 40 There are both heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the brightness of the heavenly is one kind and that of the earthly another. 41 The brightness of the sun is one kind, the brightness of the moon another, and the brightness of the stars another. For star differs from star in brightness. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown corruptible; it is raised incorruptible. 43 It is sown dishonorable; it is raised glorious. It is sown weak; it is raised powerful. 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual one. 45 So, too, it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living being,” the last Adam a life-giving spirit. 46 But the spiritual was not first; rather the natural and then the spiritual. 47 The first man was from the earth, earthly; the second man, from heaven. 48 As was the earthly one, so also are the earthly, and as is the heavenly one, so also are the heavenly. 49 Just as we have borne the image of the earthly one, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly one.

In 1 Corinthians 15:35-49, the Apostle Paul addresses the profound mystery of the resurrection. He responds to questions about the nature of our resurrected bodies and emphasizes the transformation that awaits believers. Paul draws a compelling analogy between earthly and heavenly bodies, highlighting that just as a seed must die to bring forth new life, we too must undergo a metamorphosis.

The passage begins with an inquiry about how the dead are raised and what kind of body they will have. Paul answers by illustrating the concept of the natural versus the spiritual. Our earthly bodies, fashioned from dust, will one day be transformed into glorified, spiritual bodies that reflect the image of our Heavenly Father. This profound truth acts as a cornerstone of our faith, reminding us that we were created in His likeness and, through faith in Jesus Christ, can reclaim that divine resemblance.

As we ponder the miracle of resurrection, we are reassured of our identity as children of God. Through Christ's sacrifice on the Cross, we are offered salvation—a gift that redeems us from the clutches of sin and death. Paul stresses that just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, Adam, we will also bear the image of the heavenly man, Jesus. This duality offers hope and assurance that our current struggles and earthly limitations are temporary.

In light of these verses, let us embrace the promise of resurrection and the transformative power of salvation through Jesus. As we navigate our spiritual journey, may we always remember that we are made in the image of our Heavenly Father, destined for eternal glory. Amen.

Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

We Shall Also Bear the Image of the Heavenly One

In shadows cast by mortal breath, 

We ponder life, the dance of death. 

A question rises, bold and clear, 

“What form is this we hold so dear?”

As seeds are sown in humble ground, 

In darkness held, what life is found? 

The body fades, but does not end, 

Transformed to rise, the flesh transcend.

The ancients spoke of earthly clay, 

Yet in the heavens, light holds sway. 

A body formed, both weak and strong, 

In different states, we all belong.

The first, a man of dust and tears, 

The second, born from hope and fears. 

From Adam’s grief to Christ’s embrace, 

In glory’s light, we find our place.

The fragrance of the flower’s bloom, 

The promise held within the tomb. 

What once was mortal, frail and small, 

Awakens new—our God, our all.

So fear not death, for life will soar, 

In Christ's own image, we restore. 

From seed to glory, heart’s rebirth, 

Eternal joy on heaven’s earth. Amen.
