The 1st Letter to the Corinthians Ch 15 Verse 12 thru 19

12 But if Christ is preached as raised from the dead, how can some among you say there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then neither has Christ been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, then empty [too] is our preaching; empty, too, your faith. 15 Then we are also false witnesses to God, because we testified against God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, neither has Christ been raised, 17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is vain; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are the most pitiable people of all.

In 1 Corinthians 15:12-19, the Apostle Paul addresses a crucial aspect of Christian faith: the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He emphasizes that if there is no resurrection, then our preaching is in vain, and so is our faith. Paul highlights the centrality of the resurrection to the Christian message. If Christ has not been raised, then the implications are dire: our faith is futile, we are still in our sins, and those who have died believing in Christ have perished.

This passage serves as a profound reminder to all believers about the foundation of their faith. When we declare Jesus as our Savior, we do so based on the truth of His resurrection. His victory over death not only affirms His divinity but also secures the promise of eternal life for us. Through His rising from the grave, Jesus demonstrated that death is not the end; rather, it is a passage into eternal life for those who place their trust in Him.

The resurrection is not merely a historical event; it is the cornerstone of our salvation. Paul underscores that if we are living our lives solely for this world, then we are most to be pitied. However, because of the resurrection, we are filled with hope and purpose. We can rest assured that our faith is not in vain, for through Christ’s triumph over death, we are granted forgiveness and a future filled with eternal promise. So, let us rejoice in the truth of Jesus' resurrection, for it is this pivotal event that assures us of our salvation and eternal life. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

If Christ Has Not Been Raised From The Dead

In the heart of Corinth, confusion arose,

The faithful perplexed, truth's light seemed to close.

“Is Christ truly risen?” their whispers took flight,

For without this great hope, how would they find light?

If Christ be not risen, our preaching is vain,

Empty words like the clouds, just shadows of pain.

The faith that we carry, a fragile façade,

An echo of promise, now silent, a fraud.

For if death’s grip holds, and hope fades away,

What comfort remains as we face the decay?

Are we lost in the darkness, mere dust on the breeze?

If there’s no resurrection, how can we find peace?

The dead lie in slumber, no future to claim,

If Christ did not conquer, then all is the same.

But oh, how the Gospel, like sunlight, breaks through!

For Christ, He is risen! Our lives made anew.

In Him is the victory, the ultimate prize,

A promise that lifts us to heavenly skies.

So let us proclaim, with joy in our hearts,

In Christ's resurrection, a new world imparts.

For hope springs eternal, and faith shall not wane,

In the light of the Savior, we rise once again.

So fear not the shadows, nor linger in strife,

For in Christ’s great triumph, we find our true life. Amen.
